About Your Instructor

Master Jiao Hongmin is the official lineage holder of the Songshan Jiao Family Ba Duan Jin — a rare and treasured system passed down through generations of scholar-physicians, martial artists, and healers.

His ancestors served as imperial court officials and were entrusted, more than 300 years ago, with compiling the official records of the Shaolin Temple. Through their study of Daoist texts, martial methods, and traditional medicine, they refined a Ba Duan Jin system designed not only to heal the body, but to awaken inner strength and cultivate longevity.

Master Jiao has spent decades sharing this legacy with students across China and around the world. He formerly served as Principal of the Henan Shaolin Martial Arts School and is a nationally recognized Cultural Heritage Representative for Ba Duan Jin in China. His teaching bridges martial tradition and internal cultivation, offering rare access to a living lineage of wisdom.

Very energising set of exercises

I love the detailed explanation of each movement and that the exercises can be practiced standing and sitting. The movements are explained thoroughly and the effect of each movement on the body is explained in great detail. The course is in Chinese but the subtitles work very well. After doing the exercises, I feel refreshed and recharged.
