Wu Style Tai Chi Small Frame

The Wu Style Small Frame system with Yeo Tse-Chiang — the lineage of Wu Gongyi, built around 中定 (central equilibrium).

A progressive 10-step method built around a refined 32-posture form, exploring the body mechanics and internal structure behind the movements — the sacrum, spine, kua, and alignment — rather than outer choreography alone. An in-depth look at a method seldom taught openly.

What you’ll learn

  • The complete 32-posture Wu Style Small Frame form, taught through a progressive 10-step method
  • 中定 (central equilibrium) — staying centered and upright in every posture, even while turning or leaning
  • How turning power originates in the sacrum, how the three tips (nose, knee, foot) align, and how to move as one connected unit through the joints, spine, and kua
  • Detailed refinement of key postures, including Single Whip, Cloud Hands, Grasp the Sparrow's Tail, and White Crane Spreads Its Wings
  • The internal principle of Song (release) — staying soft without collapsing, with internal energy at every point of contact
  • How Jing, Qi, and Shen develop through structured, long-term practice

About this course

Yeo Tse-Chiang shares the Wu Style Tai Chi Small Frame system, passed down through the lineage of Wu Gongyi and taught to him by his teacher, Master Ow Tak Seng.

Rather than focusing only on external choreography, this course explores the deeper body mechanics and internal structure behind the movements. At its heart is 中定 (central equilibrium) — the upright, centered structure that holds the whole system together — taught through a progressive 10-step method built around a refined 32-posture sequence drawn from the traditional longer form. The result is training that’s more approachable, without losing the essential principles of the system.

Throughout, Master Yeo explains how the body should move as one connected unit, with emphasis on the joints, spine, sacrum, kua, and alignment. You’ll learn how turning power originates in the sacrum rather than the hips, how the three tips — nose, knee, and foot — align as one (三尖归一) in the Wu Style’s distinctive 45-degree method, and how to keep your center even in a leaning or crooked position.

Alongside the complete form, the course includes detailed refinement lessons on key postures — Single Whip, Brush Knee Twist Step, Cloud Hands, Grasp the Sparrow’s Tail, White Crane Spreads Its Wings, Repulse Monkey, and more — each deepening your understanding of the internal mechanics and structural principles correct practice requires. Master Yeo also shares insight into Song (release), connected movement, and the relationship between Jing, Qi, and Shen that develops through long-term practice.

“I was waiting for this course since i watched the interview and as i expected, its not easy to grasp the form. Its unusual and has alot of micro movements governed by the sacrum. But as i progress slovely, i find it very powerfull tool for developing internal "engine" and mobilising the chi! Thank you!!!”
