Silat Suffian Bela Diri is a Silat/Kuntau style originating from Brunei and was made public by Maul Mornie.

In this style, the student start his training with weapons to forge his body and once his body has been forged, the student can learn kuntau (empty hands) and apply all the principles learned.

There are 4 main weapons: knife, machete, spear and tekpi (sai). Each weapon help to develop some specific body mechanic. Other weapons are also taught: sickle, scarf, pocket stick, knuckle dusters, kerambit, keris etc.

The videos below show some examples of how the body can be forged through weapons:

    – In the first video, Maul Mornie explains how the use of the staff/spear teaches connection between the upper and lower part of the body.

    – In the second video, Maul explains how the machete work teaches unstoppable hand moves.
