Mysticism and esoteric practices in Silat
I have heard of some mystic practices used in Silat, where the person calls the spirit of an animal into their body before sparring or going into battle, then it is the animal doing the movements and not the person. Does anyone have any more information regarding these practices, I’m interested to learn more.

There were mystic practices at one point. But after the practitioners converted to Islam, all of these practices are not used in the modern silat. There are some Silat masters who still retain this knowledge. Malaysia and Indonesia would be the place to seek this knowledge
